    Law is a career stream that students can choose to pursue by either completing an undergraduate degree or postgraduate degree to practice the legal profession in India. Law as a vocational choice offers several career opportunities for students to explore and learn. There are different subfields within the law, and students can go for any of the specializations available such as corporate law, criminal law, trade law, intellectual property law, etc.

    Law is a 5-year program that can be pursued directly after passing 12th grade. Candidates can also choose to pursue a 3-year law degree after completing their bachelor’s in any field. When pursued at a postgraduate level, the program’s duration is two years. Some of the courses offered by law colleges in Delhi include LLB, LLM, BA LLB, BCom LLB, PG diploma in law, UG diploma in law, certificate courses, etc.

    Law Colleges in Delhi: Eligibility Criteria

    A law degree can be pursued at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, or Ph.D. levels. Thus, the eligibility criteria vary according to the course and branch chosen by the student. Listed below are broad eligibility criteria to get admission to law colleges in Delhi.

    1. Undergraduate level

    Candidates applying for admission in UG law courses are eligible to gain admission after passing 12th grade from a recognized board. The minimum percentage required varies from college to college; usually, 45% is the aggregate.

    2. Postgraduate level

    For admission in LLB (3 years course), candidates must complete their graduation from a recognized university. To secure entry to the LLM course, candidates must hold an LLB degree from a recognized university or its equivalent.

    3. Ph.D. level

    Candidates applying for a Ph.D. in law need to possess a PG degree in law from a recognized university in regular study mode with a minimum of 55% aggregate.
