Previously people use to hunt here for cray fish & abalone. This particular place was used to be considered as a meeting point & trading site. After that this place was taken over by some Europeans & this place was named after them as Bells. After that Bells Beach Australia Competition used to held there which gauge the attention from the world then.
Things you can do there while on your visit are as follows:
Swimming there is impossible at high waves but one can do in low waves near the shore. But one needs to be professional enough because water becomes very deep in no sight as waves often break up towards right. So you need to be vigilant & careful enough to do so or to take this risk. Otherwise, it’s best to avoid if you are not a good swimmer
Its very eye catchy & a must stop going towards Great Ocean Road. The views from the cliff are bestowed with stunning beauty of waves & make it a fabulous stop for the passers going through it. You can go down towards the sand, knowing you have a same path as surfers enjoy.
Whether you are new or experienced one just cannot resist while doing surfing & that what it makes this place more remarkable on its own. Bells has two breaks known to be as Rincon & The BOWL. When things are normal; waves start from Rincon & goes towards the Bowl. Waves are no doubt very eye catchy but if you are not a master you are gone. It is best suited for experienced ones in short.
