Travertine is a mineral made up of calcium carbonate. It is formed mainly by hot springs. It is a white or cream-coloured form of limestone. It has a concentric or fibrous appearance. Travertine is often used in Sydney as a home construction element. It is used as tiles in kitchens, outdoor spaces, decorating the walls, etc.

travertine tiles sydney are available in different colours. They are in the earth-like colour tones- rust, tans, browns, and beige hues. These tiles are durable, aesthetic, and budget-friendly stone material. When these tiles are blended with some materials, they might look outdated, but these tiles also go well with modern materials that make the house or office look classic and aesthetic. The travertine stone was used in ancient artwork and architecture.

The tiles made with travertine material are easy to maintain. One doesn’t have to break the banks to install these tiles because they are budget-friendly. These tiles heat the room quickly when installed with a heating system.

The travertine tiles can last for up to 100 years when appropriately maintained compared with other floorings like ceramic, laminate, and concrete, travertine to buy, install, and support. But as the tiles are of travertine stones, they should be adequately sealed to improve the water impermeability. This issue of water impermeability can be solved using a penetrating sealer.

Travertine tiles handle traffic and resist scratching, cracking, and breaking. But the polished tiles are prone to scratching and breaking. So, individual tiles can be removed and replaced.

Travertine tiles can be used at:

Interior floorings: It can be used in interior flooring; the travertine stoned with a honed finish makes the cost worth it. But penetration sealing should not be forgotten.

Interior and exterior walls: The travertine stones bring a natural look to the room. So it can be used to install interior and exterior walls with penetrating sealers.

Fireplace surrounds: Fireplace surrounding is also a great place to install the travertine tiles. It is an eye-catching stone that will draw attention to the fireplace.

Bathtub surrounds: The tile will bring life to the bathroom if the natural stone is used to surround the bathtub.

Shower walls: Similarly, the tile can also be used for shower walls. It gives the bathroom an aesthetic look.

Walkways: Travertine can also be used at walkways. It looks classic, and someone would love to walk on it.

Pool decks: travertine tiles are slip-resistant, so it makes the natural stone a perfect choice for pool decks.

Countertops: The colour and streaks present in travertine tiles make the natural stone an amazing choice for a countertop. However, they have to be maintained and work with proper caution.

Patios: Travertine is commonly used outdoors. So this tile will be most suitable for patios.

Driveways: The travertine looks incredible for driveways and gives a great impression when used at a driveway.

The travertine tiles sydney come with options for finishing

Tumbled Travertine: Tumbled travertine tiles give a textured feel with a natural look. In tumbled finishing, the edges are rounded. This type of finishing is commonly used at walkways, patios, and pool decks.

Brushed Travertine: It is the same as the tumbled travertine, but the only difference is the edges are not rounded.

Honed Travertine: Honed finishing gives a smooth matte look. It is often used indoors in places like bathrooms, interior flooring, and countertops. In honed finishing, the pores of the tiles are closed, so the tile becomes stain resistant when compared to tumbled and brushed travertine finishing.

Polished Travertine: Polished travertine finishing has a shiny and smooth look. Polished finishing is also stain-resistant, just like honed finishing.
