Vacuum lifters are lifting equipment that integrates a vacuum as a component of the lifting mechanism. These are used to grab big sheets, plates, rolls, or other products with a smooth surface. They have a big vacuum pad or small suction cups—mechanical, electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic power fuel vacuum lifters. Today, you can find high-quality glass vacuum lifters that allow the wearer to lift to 110 lbs of glass. These can perfectly fulfil the requirements of a wide variety of industry professionals. Keep reading about the different types of vacuum lifters that you can find in the market.

    Heavy-Duty Vacuum Lifters

The heavy lifting equipment is for shifting and handling big and heavy metal sheets. You can find it mainly in the construction and factory sites. The heavy-duty lifting equipment is utilised with hoist equipment like lightweight cranes, overhead cranes, and truck cranes. It generally features a low vacuum alarm that functions with sound and light signals. It beeps to alert the operator when the vacuum is inadequate. It also has a vacuum compensation function to ensure working, safety, and stability.

    Vertical-Horizontal Lifters

These lifters can hold a load horizontally or vertically based on the application requirements. You can find various glass vacuum lifters that can lift to 770 lbs and are exceptionally maneuverable. They can smoothly rotate up to 360 degrees and offer 70 degrees side indexing. These lifters can smoothly lift glazed structures from horizontal to vertical positions. You can employ them to unload or load trucks, edgework machines, tilt tables, and furnaces.

    Coil Lifters

Coil lifters are also vacuumed lifters that handle rolls and coils. They can handle all kinds of metals, paper, film, or plastic coils and roll vertically or horizontally. They have multi-chambered adaptable vacuum attachment heads that can handle loads with varying diameters and weights. You can find them as complete systems or attachments for automatic crane-based systems. For choosing a vacuum coil lifter, you must consider the heaviness of the load, the thickness of the material and coils, the number of chambers required, power, and control method.

    Battery-Powered Lifters

These types of lifters are similar to electrically driven devices. The only difference is that they consist of a rechargeable battery. Many good models contain a rechargeable DC Volt battery. Thus, these lifters are appropriate for dealing with non-porous loads.

Battery-powered lifters get extensively employed for applications with no ready AC power supply below the hook. You can mount two standard generators to numerous potential lifting beams and pads. They recharge with 115V AC power. If you want to invest in a battery-powered vacuum lifter, it’s highly suggested that you buy a spare charger and battery. Like every piece of equipment that runs on a battery, it’s essential to use it regularly and recharge when the capacity reduces.

    Driving Mechanism of Vacuum Lifters

Vacuum lifters can operate via four kinds of driving mechanisms which include pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic. Pneumatic vacuum lifters are air-powered. They have air cylinders that provide the lifting action. Hydraulic vacuum lifters have an external hydraulic cylinder.

In contrast, electric-powered vacuum lifters have an electric motor and a screw-scissor combination. You can also find mechanical vacuum lifters that don’t need compressed air service.

You should select a vacuum lifter after paying good attention to your load orientation and material-handling needs. Different lifters can handle materials of varied specifications. So it is crucial to analyse your unique requirements.
