The digital world has been exploding especially during the recent few years due to the pandemic. Many of the biggest enterprises have paved their way to the virtual world, owing to the demand and gap the virus created. But with this increase in the users and of the virtual stores, the rates of cybercrime have skyrocketed as well. Individuals like المهندس احمد بطو are always working for the welfare of the people in this regard.

    What is cybercrime?

Cyber Crime can be easily understood if we break the word down into “cyber” and “crime”. The word cyber means related to the internet, and crime means any activity that is considered illegal. Cybercrime includes any illegal activity that is conducted through an online platform like hacking, cyberbullying, and the like. There are ways like التحقيق الجنائي الرقمي and others that can help investigate such crimes. If you have faced such an incident it is recommended to contact your cybercrime helpline.

    Types of cybercrime

An individual can only prevent such incidents happening to themselves if they know what sort of crimes can happen and the most common ones. The reason why such crimes are ever-growing is the fact that the general population is highly unaware of the common methods cybercriminals employ. Below is a list of major forms of cybercrimes common nowadays.

    Online scams

These are internet-based frauds in which an individual is promised cash for a small amount. What the scammers do is attract the individuals by showing a major amount that they have won, and to get your hands on the reward you have to deposit a small amount. Although many people are aware of such crimes, some still fall prey to such acts. Always know that such offers are never legitimate, whether you receive them on text, phone calls or through the internet.

    Impersonations

Many online criminals take advantage of a site’s users. Many big companies have a plethora of information on their regular customers. If that information reaches a criminal they can misuse it. Such criminals ask the individuals for cash for some products. The naive users end up using their cards or submitting their information on such platforms and end up losing their accounts and finances.

    Pirated content

Another major form of cybercrime that most individuals commit without actually knowing that it is completely against the law and they can get in pretty big trouble if caught. It is using pirated content. Many individuals download, audio, visual and other forms of content for free, of off pirated sites. These copies of the original are illegal and hence a cybercrime.
